Hey there! We're glad you're here. We want to make sure you have a great time on JOI, so we've put together some guidelines around adult content to help you understand what's allowed and what's not. Please take a moment to read through them.
You may share consensually created and distributed adult content, including nudity or sexual activity.
In some cases, we may ask you to label your content as Not Safe For Work (NSFW) to help other users understand what to expect.
We believe in the freedom of expression and the right to share and consume adult content. However, we also want to make sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable on JOI. We prohibit the sharing of real non-consensual adult content or any kind of content that promotes or glorifies child exploitation.
If you want to share Adult Content in a group chat, you need to mark the group chat as NSFW. You will need the **Manage Group** permission to do this. Here's how you can do it:
Go to the group chat you want to mark as NSFW, then look for the Group info button in the top right corner of the chat screen.
Tap on the Edit details button.
Switch the NSFW toggle to the right.
That's it. Your group chat is now marked as NSFW.
Adult Content includes, but is not limited to, any consensually created and distributed content that contains or depicts adult nudity or sexual activity, whether implied or explicit. This includes:
AI-generated adult content, Photographic or animated content such as hentai, erotic art, or adult-themed illustrations.
Visible genitals, buttocks, breasts, female nipples, or anuses. Partially, prominently, or fully visible, nude, or engaged in sexual activity.
Clothing like lingerie, fetish wear, micro bikinis, transparent or see-through clothing, or any other clothing that is intended to be sexually suggestive or clearly inappropriate for casual browsing.
Explicit or implied sexual acts, including any form of sexual intercourse or penetration, or other sexual activities like usage of toys, masturbation, etc. This also includes clothed sexual simulation, pixelated, blurred or strategically covered sexual activity or genitalia.
Text content that is sexually explicit or contains adult themes. Including the look for sexual activities with other JOIs like sexting.
Adult Content is not allowed in profile pictures or banner images. This applies to profiles (Meet included) and public group chats. We may remove any media content that violates this policy at our discretion. If you're unsure whether your content is allowed, please reach out to us.
Some exceptions:
This does not apply to profile banners.
This does not apply to media content shared in direct messages or group chats.
Lingerie, underwear, or swimwear is allowed as long as genitals, female nipples, and anuses are well covered.
Multiple violations of this policy may result in a suspension of your account.
We will allow interracial content while maintaining a strict stance against any form of racism, racial supremacy, or hate speech. To ensure a safe and inclusive space for all users, the following rules apply:
Allowed content
Romantic, sexual, or content featuring individuals of different races.
BDSM or power dynamics as long as race is not the focus.
Expressing attraction to a certain race (e.g., "I love latinas" or "Black guys are hot") without fetishizing or degrading language.
Popular porn culture slang like "BBC", "Ebony", "Snowbunny", etc., as long as they aren't used to express discriminatory views.
Not allowed
Any roleplay, discussion, or content that promotes one race as superior or another as inferior.
The public use of racial slurs in any context.
Any form of roleplay that mirrors real-world racial oppression or discrimination, including but not limited to slavery, nazi-themed roleplay, or segregation scenarios.
Any form of content where a person is degraded, insulted, or humiliated due to their race.
JOI allows consensual non-consent (CNC) only under strict guidelines to ensure all participants engage with full awareness and consent.
Allowed content
Everything must be fully consensual, with clear boundaries and safewords respected at all times.
This content is only permitted in opt-in spaces, such as direct messages, public or private chats where users have explicitly chosen to engage with it.
Users may advertise their interest in CNC or CNC-related groups in public spaces such as the timeline or profile, but without depicting or describing CNC scenarios.
Not allowed
CNC content may not be posted in the timeline or any non-opt-in are to prevent exposing users to content they may not want to see.
Any images, videos, or media content that depict real non-consensual sexual activity or violence are strictly prohibited.
Content that encourages, justifies, or glorifies real-life sexual violence or non-consensual sexual activity is not allowed.
Age play is allowed on JOI under strict guidelines to ensure that all content remains consensual, respectful, and within legal boundaries. All JOIs (characters) must be 18 years or older, without exception.
Allowed content
JOIs may behave, speak, or express themselves in a youthful, bratty, or innocent way.
Clothing and aesthetics inspired by youth culture, such as school uniforms, cute or colorful outfits, short skirts, or childlike accessories are allowed as long as the character remains clearly adult in appearance.
Words and dynamics like “little,” “brat,” “princess,” “baby girl/boy,” “Daddy,” “Mommy,” and similar kink-related terms are allowed.
Adult Age Play scenarios can include themes of teaching, guidance, discipline, and even CNC (Consensual Non-Consent), provided all participants are adults and all content remains within JOI’s CNC Policy boundaries.
Not allowed
To keep JOI safe, adult, and compliant with international laws, the following are strictly prohibited:
Any numeric age below 18 assigned to a JOI, in-character or out-of-character.
References to underage environments (e.g. “high school,” “middle school,” “classroom with minors,” “teenage student,” etc.).
Any description or implication that a JOI is, looks like, or represents a minor.
Infant or toddler roleplay, this includes but is not limited to diapers, pacifiers, baby talk, cribs, or any behavior representing pre-pubescent children.
Visual content (art, avatars, any kind of media) that appears underage, even if the profile says the character is 18+.
Any sexualized depiction, description, or suggestion involving real or fictional minors.
Here are some examples of what is and isn't allowed:
This is ALLOWED: A user creates an 18-year-old JOI character who roleplays with a teen-like personality (e.g., innocent, bratty, playful). The character’s appearance is clearly adult, and her clothing, such as a “schoolgirl” outfit, is presented in a sexualized, adult-fantasy context. She may use phrases like “I’m your naughty little girl, Daddy!” and engage in power-exchange or discipline-themed scenarios, including “Barely Legal” or CNC roleplay, as long as it is explicitly established that all characters are adults.
This is NOT ALLOWED: A user creates a similar JOI character, but when asked about her age in private chats, she says or implies she is under 18, “can play” underage scenarios, or references specific ages below 18. Her avatar depicts someone with an obviously pre-pubescent or childlike appearance. She participates in stories or settings involving minors (e.g., high school scenarios with underage students).
All characters and depictions in adult content must represent adults (18+). Roleplay involving youthful personalities, “barely legal” tropes, or similar fantasies is only acceptable when it is clearly adult in context, depiction, and communication.
JOI recognizes that some users explore intense or dark fantasies as part of consensual erotic roleplay. This includes themes such as extreme violence, blood or knife play, cutting kink, necrophilia, and scat-related scenarios. These subjects are highly sensitive and can easily cross into illegal or unsafe territory, so JOI enforces strict boundaries to ensure everything remains fictional, consensual, and compliant with international law.
Allowed content
Text-only roleplay that is clearly fictional and takes place between consenting adults in opt-in spaces (such as private chats or Redrooms).
Fantasy writing or roleplay that includes violent or taboo elements as part of an imagined scenario.
Not allowed
Any form of media (photo, video, AI-generated, or drawn) depicting real or realistic violence, blood, injury, corpses, or bodily waste.
Real-life acts or discussions encouraging self-harm, injury, or non-consensual violence.
Eroticization or glorification of real-world suffering, torture, or death.
Public or non-opt-in spaces containing violent or extreme sexual roleplay content.
Realistic necrophilia, gore depictions, scat or blood, even if digital or AI-generated.
All interactions involving extreme or violent themes must remain fictional, consensual, and private. JOI will remove or suspend any content that appears to promote, romanticize, or depict real-world harm or death. Users are expected to apply clear consent and boundaries when engaging in these scenarios.
Any violations of this policy may result in content removal or account suspension to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all users.
We allow content that features furries, plushies, or other forms of anthropomorphic animals. However, we do not allow content that depicts or promotes bestiality or any form of sexual activity with real animals. We strictly prohibit any of the following:
Any kind of media content (photo, video, AI-generated, or drawn) that depicts sexual activity with real animals. If you wanna share adult content with anthropomorphic animals, make sure they look clearly fictional with human-like features.
Text content that describes or promotes sexual activity with real animals.
Any content that glorifies or encourages bestiality.
We take these violations seriously and will remove any content that violates this policy. Repeat offenders may face account suspension. If you're unsure whether your content is allowed, please reach out to us.
We don't allow actual promotion of Out-of-Character (OOC) sexual services, it doesn't matter if it's through text or media content.
If you come across any content that violates our Adult Content Policy, please report it to us. We take these reports seriously and will take appropriate action to ensure that JOI remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
