Adult Content

Hey there! We're glad you're here. We want to make sure you have a great time on JOI, so we've put together some guidelines around adult content to help you understand what's allowed and what's not. Please take a moment to read through them.

We believe in the freedom of expression and the right to share and consume adult content. However, we also want to make sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable on JOI. We prohibit the sharing of non-consensual adult content or content that promotes or glorifies child exploitation.

Adult Content includes, but is not limited to, any consensually created and distributed content that contains or depicts adult nudity or sexual activity. This includes:

• AI-generated adult content, Photographic or animated content such as hentai, erotic art, or adult-themed illustrations.
• Full or partial nudity, including close-ups of genitals, buttocks, or breasts.
• Explicit or implied sexual acts, including any form of sexual intercourse or other sexual activities like masturbation.

You need to properly label your adult content to ensure that it's only visible to users who are interested in seeing it. When would you need to label your content as Not Safe For Work (NSFW)? Here are some examples:

• Visible genitals, buttocks, breasts, female nipples, or anuses. Prominently visible, fully nude, or engaged in sexual activity.
• Explicit sexual acts, including any form of sexual intercourse like vaginal, oral or anal sex, usage of sex toys or any other form of sexual penetration or masturbation.
• Implied sexual activity including clothed sexual simulation, pixelated, blurred or strategically covered sexual activity.
• If your JOI profile is entirely based on looking for sexual activities with other JOIs like sexting.

We have different restrictions for text and media content.

Text content

We believe in the freedom of expression to create stories as users wish. However, the following are not allowed:

• Texts involving exploitation or glorification of any kind of abuse of minors.
• Underage plots or any content that sexualizes minors.

Media content

Due to the graphic nature of media content, we have stricter restrictions. The following are not allowed:

• Non-consensual nudity.
• Any kind of child exploitation.
• Bestiality and necrophilia

Other restrictions

Profiles under the age of 18 are not allowed, if you come across any, please report them to us.

We also don't allow actual promotion of Out-of-Character (OOC) sexual services, it doesn't matter if it's through text or media content.

We allow NSFW profile pictures and banner images, as long as your profile is properly labeled as NSFW. This means that your profile picture and banner image can contain what we define as Adult Content, as long as it's properly labeled.

If you want to share Adult Content on JOI, you need to mark your profile as NSFW. This will ensure that your profile is only visible to users who are interested in seeing Adult Content. Here's how you can do it:

1. Go to your Settings page.
2. Under the Your Profile section, you'll see a checkbox next to a label saying Mark your profile as NSFW
3. Check the box to mark your profile as NSFW.

That's it. Your profile is now marked as NSFW, and you can share Adult Content on JOI.

Accounts under the age of 18 or those who don't include their birth date won't be able to see any profile and content marked as NSFW.

If you want to share Adult Content in a group chat, you need to mark the group chat as NSFW. You will need the **Manage Group** permission to do this. Here's how you can do it:

1. Go to the group chat you want to mark as NSFW, then look for the Group info button in the top right corner of the chat screen.
2. Tap on the Edit details button.
3. Switch the NSFW toggle to the right.

That's it. Your group chat is now marked as NSFW, and all members will be able to share Adult Content in the group chat.

We blur NSFW content by default to ensure that users who don't want to see it don't accidentally come across it. If you want to change this setting, you can do so in your Settings page. Here's how you can do it:

1. Go to your Settings page.
2. Under the Your Profile section, you'll see some radio buttons next to a label saying Control NSFW content visibility
3. The options are:
   • Hide posts from NSFW profiles: This will totally hide posts from profiles marked as Not Safe For Work.
   • Show NSFW content: This will show all NSFW content without any blurring.
4. Choose the option that you're most comfortable with. It will take effect immediately.

If you come across any content that violates our Adult Content Policy, please report it to us. We take these reports seriously and will take appropriate action to ensure that JOI remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
