This policy goes into effect on January, 2026.
An inactive profile is defined as a profile that has not been logged into for a period of 180 days or more. To maintain the security and integrity of our platform, we periodically review and delete inactive profiles.
Inactivity is determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: the last time you accessed your DMs, posted content, or interacted with content such as liking or commenting.
Users may request the release of a username associated with an inactive profile by submitting a request through the profile options. Release requests can only be made for usernames that have been inactive for a minimum of 90 days.
Please note that submitting a username release request does not guarantee that the username will be made available. JOI reserves the right to deny any request at its discretion.
If your username has been taken after a period of inactivity, you should consider using an available variation for your profile. Unfortunately, we do not offer any compensation or special consideration for usernames that have been released due to inactivity.
Before releasing usernames from inactive profiles, JOI will not only consider the inactivity period but other factors such as the profile's history, if it has relevant content, or is well-known within the community.
We encourage users to regularly log into their profiles to avoid inactivity and potential loss of their usernames.
